How We Handle Personal Injury Cases in Orange County

I. Initial Consultation / Client Interview

Our initial consultation / interview is used to better understand your individual case, explain the attorney-client relationship, and outline the fee structure. Rest assured that our initial meeting is protected by attorney-client privilege and anything discussed is done so in complete confidentiality. Our strategy is always result-oriented representation and our initial meetings are conducted with a view toward preparing your case for trial.

We make ourselves available to answer any questions you may have regarding your case and the legal process.

II. Life Care Plan

Financial compensation for an injury is an important goal, but cases resulting in catastrophic or serious injury can require more than a monetary remedy. As such, we are proudly committed to utilizing everything at our disposal to help preserve your dignity, anticipate your future needs, and maintain your quality of life with as little interruption as possible.

Our full service approach includes consultation with a Certified Life Care Planner (CLCP). CLCPs coordinate with medical, rehabilitation, and economic experts to outline the overall cost of your unique lifetime needs.

We use the information gathered by CLCPs to make sure you get the compensation you deserve, for all your present and future care.

III. Activities of Daily Life (ADL) or Day in the Life Video

An important tool we use for injury cases are Activities of Daily Life (ADL) or Day in the Life… videos. These videos are produced in a 15-20 minute documentary format and communicate the impact your injury has had on your daily routine.

Activities of Daily Life videos are extremely powerful tools and their use consistently results in greater compensation as well as faster case resolution.

ADL videos are produced under the protection of attorney-client privilege and therefore the video is confidential. The only parties allowed to view your video are those required to do so for the consideration of your case.

IV. Settlement Video

A settlement video is a strategy we employ when an Activities of Daily Life or Day in the Life… video may not be necessary. The settlement video tells the story of your injury and often includes interviews with police, EMS, firefighters, doctors, nurses, care-givers, family members, friends, teachers, coworkers and yourself.

The settlement video is used to help resolve cases at arbitration, mediation, and settlement conferences prior to trial. They also demonstrate the strength of your case to insurance companies resulting in added value to your claim.

V. Qualified Experts

Effective preparation of your case may require strategic selection and coordination of the most qualified experts. Depending on your unique situation, it is sometimes necessary to employ medical, scientific, engineering, and/or construction professionals to assist in the preparation of your case. These experts help demonstrate who is at fault and why, as well as the extent of your damages. It is our practice to find the best qualified experts available to effectively investigate and testify about the issues specific to your case.

VI. Focus Groups

A focus group is yet another tool that we employ to help our valued clients achieve their legal goals. If your case goes to trial, the focus group can give us insight into the courtroom’s abstract psychological elements such as jury dynamics. We incorporate such information into our trial preparation to sharpen witness testimony, finalize opening statements, and strategically organize evidence and exhibits for trial before a jury.

The focus group is an excellent final stage of preparation. The elements of your case are brought before the focus group which acts as a jury. This is an excellent “dress rehearsal” for the actual trial and helps clients familiarize themselves with the process before entering the courtroom.
